The yinyang symbol is something you’ve probably seen many times before. Although, many people don’t know the actual meaning of the symbol. Do you know what the meaning of Yin and Yang is? It is a big part of Chinese philosophy that holds real value to everyone.
The Yinyang Shows Harmony
The dark and light of the yinyang symbol illustrate opposing forces meeting and working together. For example, the yin (black section) could represent loud while the yang could represent quiet. It represents balance and harmony with the world as it is naturally. In Taoism (or Daoism) it’s said that people should learn to live with the world instead of against it. It means to find the rhythm of the world, and adapt it to yourself to make a heaven for yourself.
The yinyang symbol can be a representation for all life. You must live with the good and bad parts of life, and must have the right attitude about it. In Taoism, this is how you reach perfect harmony. You must recognize that there’s a natural flow to things that shouldn’t be obstructed but rather adapted and interconnected to. We are already all interconnected with the world, just as the yinyang.
