Adidas is my go-to and favorite sportswear brand. I love the classic Adidas Tracksuits, and also the new innovative shoes that keep Adidas ahead of other brands. It’s 2nd only to Nike. I wear Yeezy’s all the time, but if you would’ve asked me anything about any Adidas history i’d be lost.. but now i’m here to deliver what i’ve learned.
Adidas started as the Dassler Brothers Shoe Factory in 1924. Two brothers, Adi (Adolf) and Rudi (Rudolf), both ran the company and found success after humble beginnings in Herzogenaurach, Germany. They were the only people making sports shoes in Germany.
Being the sole sports shoemakers in the country, it brought them attention, from Nazi youth. They ended up joining the Nazi Party later on and working with the government. Their shoe called the “Geda” for short was first seen at the 1936 Olympics. Four Gold Medals were won (by an African American male, despite political climate) while wearing these shoes, giving them all the clout in the world.
