Nasubi is an actor/comedian who was the star of Denpa Shonen, the first ever reality-tv show. Nasubi had the opportunity of a lifetime, winning a lucky lottery to get on the show Denpa Shonen to compete in a challenge. Usually, the challenges would be pretty tough, and would involve traveling over long distances. Unfortunately for Nasubi, he wouldn’t be so lucky when it comes to his challenge. Nasubi was tricked, lied to, and practically tortured for over a year unknowingly being broadcasted live the whole time.
Nasubi had it rough growing up. He was bullied for having a “long face”. Unfortunately the torment from his childhood would follow him when he signs up to his favorite show “Denpa Shonen”. Imagine this, you meet your “hero” who is THE producer for your favorite show; while also giving you the opportunity of a lifetime. It was a typical case of power abuse. Nasubi was taken to an apartment, was told to strip (all the way no underwear), and to send out postcards to win prizes from magazines. The prizes from the magazines were the only way he could “complete” the challenge, he had to get a certain dollar amount of prizes. While also having to win food prizes….to eat. It was literal torture,
The sick experiment went on for way too long. The worst part is, Nasubi got a brief taste of freedom then got tricked into another room and told to strip and repeat the process (this time, in Korea!). After mentally draining Nasubi down to the point he was suicidal, the producer had another bright idea. “Let’s trick Nasubi into thinking he’s going to ANOTHER room, then drop the walls to a live audience”. It’s worse than it sounds, and i’ll end this article by leaving that clip below.
