Rurouni Kenshin is an anime/manga that had it’s first anime adaption in 1996. It’s about a young swordsman who comes across a struggling martial arts school in Japan’s Meiji era. Mainly a redemption story, the protagonist seeks forgiveness for his past. The anime is getting a new reboot this year.
