Junji Ito is definitely the pinnacle of horror manga/anime. He’s made the creepiest, most horrifying anime i’ve ever seen with Junji Ito Collection. Definitely shouldn’t watch that at night… Junji has also made several mangas and a ton of movies dating back to 1999. Netflix has recently announced that Junji Ito’s “Maniac: Japanese Tales of the Macabre” will be coming to the platform. This will be an adaption of his manga work just like Junji Ito Collection, although this will more-closely follow the source material. Be warned, it’s the exact kind of scary content that’ll leave you paranoid in the dark.

The series will release on January 19th, 2023. The series will be releasing exclusively on Netflix. You can see the teaser below. Also, Uzumaki will be releasing in 2023; which is another work from Junji Ito recreating the popular story “Uzumaki” in a mini-series on Adult Swim.
