WWDC 2022 kicked off today at the Apple Park to have an Apple Keynote. WWDC is the Apple Worldwide Developers Conference. At this keynote today, future Apple updates and upgrades were discussed; but there’s only one I will be discussing in this article.
In iOS 16, Apple will finally give users the chance to edit and unsend messages. I know people that have been waiting a decade for this feature to release. Honestly, I didn’t think it was possible. Both users must be using iMessage on iOS 16 for this to work. Also, there’s only a 15 minute period in which the editing and unsending can be done. After that 15 minutes, you won’t be able to use the new function(s).
You will have to long press on a message to edit or unsend it. In the list that opens, you will be able to see the options available (while running the new iOS). The iOS 16 update is expected to be available September 2022 (around the time of the Apple Event). You will also be able to recover deleted messages with this update, which is also an update that people look forward to.
The following devices support Apple’s iOS 16 update: iPhone SE (2nd Gen), iPhone 8, iPhone 8 Plus, iPhone X, iPhone XS, iPhone XS Max, iPhone XR, iPhone 11, iPhone 11 Pro, iPhone 11 Pro Max, iPhone 12, iPhone 12 Pro, iPhone 12 Pro Max, iPhone 12 Mini, iPhone 13 Mini, iPhone 13 Pro, and iPhone 13 Pro Max.
