It seems to me that hotels are superstitious. In many of the hotels i’ve been to, the 13th floor is unavailable to the public. Why is this? There’s been many horror folklores about the 13th floor, but do they hold any merit? We will give you the answer as to why there’s no 13th floor in hotels, and other phenomena surrounding the 13th story.
Why Is There No 13th Floor In Hotels?
According to dictionary.com, triskaidaidekaphobia is the irrational or disproportionate fear of the number 13. It could be said that companies are superstitious and the lore only exists out of fear. Although, in the past the number 13 has been associated with evil. In Christianity, Ancient Babylon, and Norse Mythology, the number 13th appears and brings some kind of chaos, or is omitted from ancient text. This is why companies are superstitious of having a 13th story, or name the actual 13th story something else (12B, 13A).
