The 28th President of the United States of America was Woodrow Wilson in 1913. Many people don’t know this, but Woodrow Wilson didn’t serve out his full term. Edith Bolling Gatt Wilson was the 2nd wife of Woodrow Wilson.
Woodrow Wilson suffered from a stroke during his Presidency which caused him to be paralyzed and blind in one eye. This happened in 1919 during his second term. Edith hid his illness to the presidential cabinet, government, and the rest of the world. She already had tons of top secret information told to her by Woodrow, so she made sure that all documents came straight to her. She successfully hid the Presidents illness for 2 months, while acting as the President during the time.
Not much was done after people became aware that Edith was acting as President. They allowed her to, but she did not see what she was doing as being the President. She referred to it as The “Stewardship” of the Presidency. She remained President for 17 months even though she claims that she “never made single decision regarding the disposition of public affairs”. This is truly some interesting, unheard of history.
