Jordan Belfort grew up in Queens, New York. He was a natural business man and had early success in high school and college netting him (and his partner) around 20k. Belfort went to college, but dropped out and started doing door-to-door sales in Long Island. He ended up hiring a team and starting his own business, which failed in the end and he filed for bankruptcy.
Jordan became interested in stockbroking from a family friend at around age 25. After learning the game for a few years, he went on to create Stratton Oakmont, his own brokerage, at 30. This was a huge success as you saw in the movie The Wolf of Wall Street, yet it did have a tragic end. Penny stock manipulation, pump & dump schemes, and money laundering eventually led to his downfall; he ended up basically losing it all.
In recent years though, it seems Jordan Belfort has been doing just fine. He’s now a entrepreneurial motivational speaker. He tries to help others with finance, and tackling business problems they run into. He’s also wrote books, and has been seen talking on plenty of podcasts telling his story. As far as investments go, it seems he’s now heavily into cryptocurrency. He recently held an NFT workshop event that charged an entry fee of 1BTC (when price was $40,000).
