Percy Jackson, the beloved demigod hero of Rick Riordan’s best-selling book series, is set to embark on a new adventure, this time on the small screen. Disney+ has announced that “Percy Jackson and the Olympians,” a live-action series based on Riordan’s popular novels, will premiere on December 20, 2023.
The series will follow the story of Percy Jackson, a 12-year-old boy who discovers that he is the son of Poseidon, the Greek god of the sea. Percy is thrust into the world of demigods, where he must learn to control his powers and fight against the monsters that threaten to destroy the world.
“Percy Jackson and the Olympians” is being produced by Disney+ and 20th Television. The series is being written and executive produced by Jonathan E. Steinberg and Dan Trachtenberg, who will also direct the pilot episode. Riordan himself is also involved in the production of the series, serving as an executive producer. He has expressed his excitement about the project, saying that he is “thrilled to be working with Disney+ to bring Percy Jackson’s world to life on screen.“
