The James Webb Telescope is an infrared space observatory. It launched into space recently on December 25, 2021. This is the most powerful telescope ever put to use. This telescope was made to uncover the history of the universe. Yesterday, an image was released of the first look into the universe, taken by the James Webb Telescope.
The image shows the clearest view of the distant universe we have ever seen. The photo is an amazing view that looks so good it almost looks fake. The James Webb Telescope is focusing on the galaxy cluster named SMACS 0723, although the photo shows plenty more. This is how the galaxy looked 4.6 billion years ago.
This telescope can do wonders, looking through the universe into different galaxies. Researchers will continue to look into new galaxies and take new photos to solve the mysteries of the universe. The NASA telescope was able to uncover another amazing image (cover photo for the article) of a mountain-like universe with shining stars, at the edge of the star-forming region NGC 3324. More information about how stars are born will be able to be identified with the help of images from the James Webb Telescope. Below, you can see more photos taken by the telescope July 11th, 2022. The top photo is of the Stephan’s Quintet (5x galaxies), while the bottom photo is the Southern Ring Nebula.
