It seems like the alien craze is not nearly over, but rather just starting. NASA recently stated that they will begin to look for alien life underwater on other planets. This will be done using tiny swimming robots. These robots will be about the size of a cellphone.
Do you believe that aliens could be found underwater? It’s worth noting that we barely have even explored our own ocean; much of it is still undiscovered. Also, there are a ton of strange alien-looking fish, so who really knows what’s going on down there.
This vision for NASA to conduct and deploy this search, was made by Ethan Schaler. He’s a robotics engineer at NASA. His concept (Sensing With Independent Micro-Swimmers: SWIM) won $600,000 from NASA’s NIAC program. 3D-Printed prototypes will be made over the course of the next two years to determine the most efficient deployment of robots.
