Taking a page out of Apple & Microsoft’s notes, Meta is now opening their own official storefront. In May, Meta will open their first store in California. The store will be very hands-on and give customers the chance to experience the Oculus VR, and Portal communication.
Customers will be able to play games such as Beat Saber while doing a demo of the Oculus Quest 2. Everyone in the store will be able to see what players in the VR headset are doing in-game by viewing a huge screen in-store which shows what the player is seeing. As mentioned above, Portal communication will be available to try as well. To me, it seems like a TV that does FaceTime, cool, I guess?
I got the chance to get my Oculus Quest 2 without giving it a test-run. Some people really need to try it before they buy it, though. This store will give people the chance to try virtual reality for themselves, and experience the futuristic gaming world. Maybe they love it, maybe they hate it. I recommend everyone to give it a try at least once.
The Meta store will open it’s doors May 9th at 322 Airport BLVD., Burlingame California. You will be able to purchase the Quest 2, Quest accessories, and the Meta Portal.
