In North India there is a celebration that is held in India. It’s held in the spring on the full moon day of Phalguna (February to March). The celebration is called Holi celebrated by Hindu worshippers of Krishna. The celebration is said to be triumphant for the victories of good over evil. It’s also said to be the welcoming of spring.
During Holi, people gather and throw around colored water and powders in the air. Everyone is covered from head to toe in different colors by the end. It’s a very high-energy party that last one whole day, but only that day. Usual rankings are thrown out the window this day and everyone is treated equally. At the end of the festival, everyone cleans up, then puts on a fresh white outfit. After that, they go out into society to visit their mutuals to restore the order to the town.
Holi has become such a big cultural event, that it’s expanded beyond India into other countries. Many states in the United States have their own Holi festival yearly. I think this would be fun to experience one day.
