Hell’s Paradise has been one of the top Spring anime, and a personal favorite for me as well. It follows Gabimaru the Hollow, a criminal assassin shinobi in Japan. Due to his crimes, he is sentenced to death. While he accepts this fate, no one is able to kill him due to his other-worldly strength. Though he meets his match when he’s met with an Asaemon who works as the beheader of the Yamada Clan. This unlikely Asaemon gives Gabimaru a chance to live when he grasps the true weight of the situation.

Hell’s Paradise is a chance for redemption for Gabimaru and other criminals, and it will serve as their last. Around 10 criminals are sent to “Hell’s Paradise” island to look for the elixir of life. Yet, while on the island they face hellish monsters that resemble holy figures come to life. The search for the elixir isn’t an easy one at all. Also, they are accompanied by an Asaemon to watch over them. Season 1 just finished today which left on a very surprising unexpected twist. Thankfully, Season 2 has been announced.
