Funimation and Crunchyroll are joining forces and are merging platforms. The merge has already started, as many hit anime titles such as: My Hero Academia, Tokyo Ghoul, and Yu Yu Hakusho have already been added to Crunchyroll. Although, many are still wondering when Funimation and Crunchyroll will fully merge.
When Will Funimation And Crunchyroll Merge?
It’s still unclear when the full merger will occur. Strange enough, Funimation will be increasing prices on their platform starting on October 5th, 2022. The price of the monthly subscription will rise $2 on both plans.
The timeline of the merger process is still TBD, but we will keep you updated here on Korruption Studios when more information is presented.
Why Is Funimation Still Running?
Funimation will only add new episodes of continuing series from now on. You are able to still subscribe currently as of 9/23/22. Although, it might not be the best idea to do this as they are currently merging titles to Crunchyroll. Unfortunately, I did enjoy and use Funimation’s platform more than Crunchyroll, and I will continue using it till the end. Although, having all anime titles in one place is a good move that I won’t complain about.
Funimation users will receive a special for 60 days Premium Crunchyroll for free via email with a unique code link to redeem.
