We’re almost in 2024, and it’s clear to see that advertising is the biggest cash grab there is. Subscribers that are now subscribed to Amazon Prime Video will have to pay an extra $3 for no ads on the service starting on January 29th, 2024. This is honestly a huge bummer, because this probably won’t be the only upcharge that will occur in the near future. How does this move impact Amazon as a whole? People probably won’t unsubscribe from Amazon Prime (because of the shipping + deals), but will people actually spend that extra $3 for Amazon Prime Video without ads? I’m not too sure, I guess we’ll have to see how it plays out.
