There’s probably not a more depressing anime film than this one. Studio Ghibli’s “Grave of the Fireflies” is all about survival when everything is lost. A firebombing by American soldiers during World War II leaves two young children named Tsutomu and Ayano separated from their parents. We see the children struggle for survival while also trying there best to find peace in their new life. The movie released in 1988, but it’s coming to Netflix very soon.
