Headaches are annoying. For some people, they are a part of every day life. For me, i’ve experienced years of headaches every other day in the past. Luckily, changing my diet helped cure my headaches for the most part. Unfortunately, some still suffer from headaches and migraines no matter what, so for those individuals I have 3 ways to relieve headache and migraine stress.
1. Put An Ice Pack On Your Head
The best solution I have to curing a headache is putting an ice pack on your head. When you have a tension headache or migraine, place ice in a hand towel and press it against your head for 15 minutes. Preferably, probably would work best in a dark room with minimal sound. I sometimes just use a cold water bottle instead of ice and it works just as good.
2. Take A Shower
I’m not sure why this works, although taking a shower has been very effective in curing my headaches. This isn’t exactly medical advice, but it’s worked for me so I wanted to share with you even though its unorthodox. I advise you to try and take a shower if the ice pack doesn’t work for you. As for the temperature of the shower, warm-to-hot water has worked best.
3. Drink Some Caffeine
If you are a morning coffee drinker like myself, you may experience headaches when you miss your morning cup. If this ever happens, it’s an easy fix. All you have to do is drink some coffee or have a soda and that should help relieve your headache. If it doesn’t cure your headache, I recommend trying the other two ways.
BONUS: Meditate
There’s another way to relieve your headaches, and it’s meditation. I know you might be tired of self-help gurus preaching about meditation, although it seriously does help. It’s a breathing technique that helps you clear your mind as well. Sometimes, when we are not getting enough oxygen correctly it forms headaches. Being able to control your breathing pattern while meditating helps a ton, and usually relieves the headache. For maximum efficiency, you can meditate while pressing the ice pack on your head.
